In the book of Jeremiah chapter 3: 19 to 22, says, “how gladly would I treat you like sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation. I thought you would call me father and not turn away from following me. But Like a woman unfaithful to her husband. So have you been unfaithful to me oh house of Israel, declares the Lord. A cry is heard on barren heights. The weeping and pleading of the people of Israel, because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the Lord their God. Return, faceless people; I will cure you of backsliding. Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God.”
Things in our society have changed so much recently. The secure jobs that we once knew, are uncertain or even gone completely. So many of the things that we looked to for security, are now so uncertain and unattainable. So many of us are struggling with health issues and not enough health insurance. We could make a list of the things that make us feel so insecure right now! But my friends, it’s not necessary! All that God requires is that we come to him, put him first in our lives, and seek him to provide for us. And he does promise to provide for us in abundance. It says so in his word, Deut.8:9 “a land where bread will not be scarce. And you will lack nothing;” and his word does not come back void. You see when we go our own way and place material things above our Savior, in his eyes we have forgotten him. You know, he has created us for fellowship! When we put material things before God, We are being unfaithful to him. He wants to be first in our lives! He also, wants us to enjoy the life he’s given us, and have beautiful things. But, According to his will. It’s there, we will be totally satisfied. So, just like it says in the book of Jeremiah,” if only we would call him father, and put him first, and be loving and faithful toward him”, if we do that, according to his will, he will give us the most beautiful things and the most beautiful inheritance of any nation. If we do not my friends, the very opposite is true. I will finish with this: please consider reading the book of Deuteronomy chapter 28, and there you will find God’s clear words; the blessings for obedience, and the curses for disobedience! It is that simple, and God does love you, but he wants you to love him to. He did’nt come to condemn you, just to love you. He loves you just the way you are. May God richly bless you today!
