“THE WORLD SAYS, GOD SAYS” by Tammy Maseberg, March 12, 2013

The world says, you are not loved

“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.  This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”  (1 John 4:9-10, NLT)

The world says, everyone has abandoned you.

“. . . For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” (Hebrews 13:5, NLT)

The world says, you have no future.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

The world says, you are your past—you cannot get away from that.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NLT)

The world says, God doesn’t hear your prayers.

“The Lord has heard my supplication, the Lord receives my prayer.” (Psalm 6:9, NAS)

The world says, be afraid.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  (Isaiah 41:10, NAS)

The world says, you have no hope.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13, NLT)

Lord, help me to put all my trust in Your Word—no matter what the world or people try to tell me because: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”  (Isaiah 40:8, NAS)
