1st Verse:  Well, everybody’s got a story to tell

And everybody’s got a wound to be healed

Each one of us has a unique life, a “story” that no one else can lay claim to—not exactly anyway.  And, everyone has at least one part of that story that has caused heartache.  Sometimes the pain we deal with from those wounds may be so overwhelming that we cannot see beyond them.

1st Verse (cont.):   I want to believe there’s beauty here

‘Cause oh I get so tired of holding on

                                                  I can’t let go, I can’t move on

I want to believe there’s meaning here

Ever felt that way?  I have.  I want to believe that God will bring sense to those things in life that, on the surface, make no sense at all.  The Lord wants us to trust Him that He will bring good in spite of what it “looks” like.  “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28, NLT.) Now that is truly good news!  We can rest in Jesus even when we are dealing with hurt that is deep and seemingly unending.  The weariness if being involved in a difficult situation can be all consuming, and moving on can seem almost impossible.  We can place our assurance in the One who holds all things in His hands. “I remain confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13, NIV)

Chorus: How many times have you heard me cry out “God please take this?”

How many times have you given me strength to just keep breathing?

Oh, I need you. God, I need you now.

Oh, how I’ve cried out to the Lord in desperation at times, just searching for some kind of relief from a hurt.  And, to this date—He has not failed me yet.  The situation may not have changed, BUT He always gave me the strength to go on.  “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)

I love this song by Plumb.  I love the music and how the lyrics speak to my heart about my need for Jesus.  It stirs my very soul.  I will continue to look at the rest of this song in the next couple of blogs, so stay tuned.

Take heart and know that God is the One we can lean on in complete trust—no matter what comes in a day.  He loves you and will be there for you.

Blessing Today, Tammy
