Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” John 8:10-11, NAS

This morning, I was reading in the Gospel of John about the woman who was caught in adultry. The people wanted to stone her, the punishment set for such a crime in the Law of Moses. Jesus said that whoever was without sin should cast the first stone. They all walked away because, of course, no one is without sin. While the people wanted to condemn the woman, Jesus forgave her.

Christmas Miracles

This time of year I find myself feeling somewhat conflicted. I’ve been so incredibly blessed, and for this my heart is full of praise to the Savior. I remember times in my life when utter devestation in the face of loss seemed to threaten my sannity and steal my peace, but Jesus remained faithful to His own and pulled me through. I reflect on the Savior’s love for me, especially at this time of year, knowing firsthand that the Holiday Season is very painful for those who are suffering. I want them to find the comfort I have known in the Savior, and the peace that knowing Jesus Christ as Lord will bring to their hearts if they just reach out to Him. So,I pray for them. I may never meet them, but Jesus knows their stories, their hearts, and their needs.

“My Christmas Story – the Miracle of a Baby” Fiction Short Story by Tammy Maseberg

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she bore?”

~~Isaiah 49:15a, NIV

 Twenty-seven years is a long time to keep a secret.  My husband, James, was the only other person who knew the real story—my Christmas story of legacy and faith.  So, when my youngest was 18, I knew the day had come, at last, to tell my four children what I had kept to myself for all those years.  I had stood guard over my heart and its contents of long ago, partly out of guilt and partly out of fear of how they would react.

So, after dinner that December 25th, I said that I needed to talk to them.  “Please, just listen until I’m completely finished,” I said.  We were all around the dining room table, pumpkin pie half eaten.

I took a deep breath and allowed my mind to drift back to a time of great pain.  “As you know, your sister Faith died 27 years ago today,” I started.  “But, what I’m about to share with you is the part of the story you don’t know.

“A Baby as a King” by Tammy Maseberg, Nov. 29, 2009

Today in Sunday service, my pastor preached about Jesus’ birth and how the people of Israel were anticipating the coming of the Messiah. However, they were looking for a conquering king, not a vulnerable and helpless baby who was and is a heavenly King. In looking for some powerful, earthly king, many of them missed the real Messiah.

“GLIMPSES OF HEAVEN” Testimony by Iris Fisher Smith

 What comes after this life?  Is there a heaven? These questions are a common thread throughout the human race. This is my story—my testimony—to offer hope and comfort to all of you concerning this great mystery.

I grew up with parents who loved to play and gave me a childhood filled with good memories. We had our very own version of Dick Van Dyke in my father. He wasn’t perfect, but he was so fun to be around and kept our home filled with laughter.  We had a very large extended family, and we all gathered together for special events and on holidays such as Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas. We never ran out of things to do. My heritage is primarily Jewish, but my father had an Italian background with many Christians on his side of the family.
